Apply a ½ in. bead of Oatey Plumber’s Putty around the underside of the no-caulk barrel flange.
Note: ABS shower drains should only use silicone, NOT putty
Then, place the no-caulk barrel through the top side of the shower base hole. Compress down as far as you can without twisting the drain.
Next, place the rubber sealing washer and friction washer over the barrel to the underside of the shower base.
Tighten the locking ring using adjustable pliers. Once fully tightened, remove any excess plumber‘s putty from the top of the drain.
Carefully set the shower base into the shower footprint.
Place the rubber pipe gasket, bevel side up, over the drainpipe coming up through the no-caulk barrel. Push down on the rubber pipe gasket until it sets at the bottom of the no-caulk barrel.
Next, thread the gasket set screw into place over the drainpipe with the provided wrench and tighten with a screwdriver.
Lastly, simply snap in your drain cover to complete the installation.
